Monday: Texas Hold’em 10am-1pm. Sewing Is Fun 1pm-3pm. Please sign up at Center.
Tuesday: Weekly Bingo 1pm-4pm. Senior Business meeting and Monthly Birthday Party celebrated 3rd Tuesday of the month prior to Bingo.
Wednesday: Grocery Bus to/from Hannaford for Waterford Seniors. Walking Group (weather permitting), 10:30am-12pm either at Sugarloaf Pond or Village Towpath.
Thursday: Drop In Center 1pm-3pm including Crafts and games.
Friday: Texas Hold’em 10am-1pm. Watercolor Class with Diane Steele 1pm-3pm. Cost is 10.00 per class.
The Grocery Bus operates on Wednesdays, please contact the center at 518-235-8500 to sign up.
The Medical Transport Van operates Monday thru Thursday. Please contact Andy Walters for more information on this service 518-527-4589.
The Home Delivered Meals Program continues to operate on a weekly basis. Please contact Saratoga County Office of the Aging at 518-884-4100 for more information.
Upcoming Events for Waterford Community/Senior Center for May and June
Canal Fest Weekend will be held on Saturday and Sunday May 21-22, 2022. Again, this year, Seniors will be having a booth at the event. Stop by and purchase tickets to win our raffle prizes; Lottery Scratch offs and Gift Cards. NEW**We will be selling beautiful handmade crafts made by our Seniors. Come support us!
Hike On Peebles Island on Canal Fest Weekend, Saturday May 21st, 2022, Sponsored by the “Friends of Peebles Island” in collaboration with the Waterford Community/Senior Center. Take an easy, guided hike around beautiful Peebles Island and learn about the Native American settlement, early Dutch settlers, the Revolutionary War fortifications, industry on the island, wildlife, and the many features of this historic site. Hikes will start at 10:00am and 1:00pm and meet at the northern end of the parking lot near the trail map on Peebles Island. Each hike is approximately 2 miles long. See you there!
On Tuesday, May 24, 2022 our Seniors will be taking a trip to Grapevine Farms located in Cobleskill, NY. It’s a great place to shop, have lunch in their Farmhouse Bistro and visit their Wine Cellar. Trip sold out, waiting list in place.
Another trip! Lake George Boat Cruise and Luncheon will be held on Wednesday, June 29th, 2022. Seniors will board the La Duc San Sacrement. After dining, relax in your seat or head topside to enjoy the fresh air on the outer decks. The Saint’s dining room is climate controlled for your comfort. Seats still available. Our Center is excited to welcome some WHHS Senior Class volunteers on their “Give Back Day” on Thursday June 2, 2022 at the Waterford Community/Senior Center. Students will assist with planting our Patio Herb Garden along with weeding the vegetable beds. Their help is much appreciated. Many thanks to Superintendent Patrick Pomerville for reaching out to us at the Center to offer some helping hands from our youth!
A COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic will be held at the Waterford Community/Senior Center on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 from 10:00 am-12:00 pm. This is made possible through the coordination of the Town of Waterford, Marras Pharmacy in Cohoes and the Saratoga County Public Health Department. First, second doses and boosters are available. You must sign up prior to the June 14. To register, please call the Center at 518-235-8500. A COVID-19 Questionnaire must be completed prior to receiving the vaccine/booster. Blank forms are available at the Waterford Community/Senior Center. Please bring insurance information on day of the clinic.
Community Event-Come to our Sock Hop and Classic Car Cruise on Friday June 17th, 2022 at 3:00 pm- 8:00 pm. Event held at Sugarloaf Pond, Columbus Ave in Waterford! Bring your Classic Car and Dance shoes. DJ Entertainment by Twinkle Toes and Peppermint Patty. Food and beverages available. Sponsored by the Town of Waterford.
Community Event-Outdoor Movie Night on The Patio at the Waterford Community/Senior Center on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at 7:00pm. Enjoy watching a movie on our outdoor movie theatre screen under the stars while relaxing on our beautiful patio!
On Thursday June 30th, 2022 at 10:00 am, please join as Town Historian, Russ VanderVoort guides us through an interpretive presentation on the fascinating history of Waterford’s Canal System as we walk on the Canal Towpath Trail. This is a community event and all ages are welcome. We will meet on the Broad St Bridge next to St Mary’s Church. Rain date will be Wednesday, July 6th, 2022 at 10:00 am.
