2016 Tugboat Roundup Schedule                                                

 September 9th, 10th & 11th, 2016                                                    

Throughout the weekend, visit food and craft vendors, souvenir stands and shore-displays.

All events are free, although boat rides do have a nominal charge.  Boat tickets are available at their docks.

 

Friday, September 9th

12:00 noon        Tugs leave Waterford to join others at the Port of Albany.  

2:30                  Tugs muster at the Port and head north on the Hudson River.  

3 - 3:15             Parade Passes Erastus Corning Preserve. 

3:45 – 4            Parade Passes Watervliet and South Troy. 

4:40                  Parade enters Troy area

5:00                  Tugs start arriving in Waterford amid great celebration, setting off the 17th Annual Waterford Tugboat Roundup.

4-7:00 pm         Music at the Visitor’s Center - George Ward

7-9:00 pm         Music on the Grand Erie – All Night Long 

Saturday, September 10th

Morning is a great time for pictures of the boats.   Vendors start opening around 9:30 or 10.

• Through the day there will also the mini-tugs doing their thing, tours of some of the tugboats, vendors, demonstrations, kid's activities, exhibits and more.  Don't forget the boat show and tours of the venerable and historic Tug Urger.  
• In the late morning and through the day, Line-splicing seminars will be taking place. 
• A boat show at lock 2 will feature modern cruisers, speed boats and fishing boats (sponsored by the Eastern NY Marine Dealer's Association, Southern Saratoga Chamber of Commerce and Boating On The Hudson.)  
• The Farmer's Market will be open through the weekend, most of the stands located at Lock 2. 
• The Caldwell Belle will provide boat rides along the Hudson and beside the tugs on 45 minute tours (tickets at their boat, down by the "battery").

Sunday, September 11th

• On Sunday there will also the mini-tugs doing their thing, tours of some of the tugboats, vendors, demonstrations, exhibits and more. 
• Don't forget the Farmer's Market, the Boat Show and tours of the venerable and historic Tug Urger.  
  Line Splicing seminars will be going on along the waterfront, too! 
• The Caldwell Belle boat rides continue - from the Battery with tickets available at the boat.
