Waterford Memorial Day Parade to be held May 25, 2016.

The Annual Waterford Memorial Parade will be held on Wednesday May 25th at 7pm.  The Parade will line up at 5:45pm from Grace Street proceed to Saratoga Avenue and end at Soldiers and Sailors Park on Broad Street. Step off will be at 7pm sharp. A wreath laying ceremony will be held in the park following the parade to honor our veterans both past and present

Staff Sergeant Ronald R. Bennett of Waterford will lead the parade as the 2016 Grand Marshall. Born in 1971, Bennett enlisted in the Army National Guard in 1992. He is an Iraq War Veteran. Following boot camp and advanced training at Fort Benning, GA, Ron served with Company A 1st. Battalion 105th Infantry in Troy until 2003 when he was attached to Company D 2nd Battalion 108th Infantry. With the 2/108 Ron deployed to Ballad, Iraq and served as part of the 2nd Brigade Combat Team of the 1st Infantry. Bennett is the recipient of the Army Achievement Medal, Iraq Campaign Ribbon, New York StateMedal for Merit, and the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal.
