What is a Dragon Boat Race?
A dragon boat is a 42 foot lightweight boat powered by up to 20 paddlers and one drummer.
Dragon Boats originated in China and have been popularized throughout the world.
During the festival, teams of paddlers will race one another in a tournament style competition.

- Step 1 – Team Captains Please Register Their Team to Sponsor or Participate in the Race
- Step 2- Each Paddler (at least 12yrs old) Must Fill Out A Waiver and Return It to Their Captain Prior to Race Day In Order to Participate Download The Waiver and Release
- Step 3- Teams Will Be Able To Sign Up For Practice to be held on Friday August 4, 2023.– Your Practice Session will be held with Pan Am Dragon Boat Association at the Visitor Center. Click here to sign up for a practice session
* Each Registered Team will have a designated 10x10 space in the grassy area near the promenade to set up a tent/chairs.
