Buttons as Collectibles/Antique, Vintage, and New
Date: Saturday, February 24, 2018
Time: Start 2:00 PM, 1 hour program
Location: Peebles Island State Park, Visitor Center, 1 Delaware Avenue North, Cohoes, NY 12047
Buttons are becoming more and more popular. We’ve seen them in decorations,
jewelry, artwork, and, of course, clothing. This presentation will provide you with an
overview of buttons through the years with examples, identification tips, and lots of
pictures. We’ll also explore local button manufacturers and button finds. This will be a
rare opportunity to view some of the buttons that have been unearthed at Peebles
Island.
The presenter, Kathy Arbogast, has found collecting buttons to be a fascinating,
educational, and beautiful hobby since she started over 10 years ago. She is involved in
local, state, and regional button events and clubs.
Warning! This presentation may result in you becoming infected with button fever!
After the presentation, Kathy will be happy to look at any buttons that you bring.
FREE and open to the public.
